From the reports’ preface: “We live in the age of disclosure: personal data circulates relatively freely across borders, and citizens are able to create and control multiple identities. Personal data underpins most digital services: search, social networking, eCommerce, eHealth. Personal data also enable businesses to provide new, intelligent and automated services to their customers. But not all is rose-tinted in the digital world.”

Comment: Networked learning can only reach its full potential with rich online identities. Networked learning will only reach its full potential if those identies are well managed, by individuals, private and public parties. This report contains much data on online identities and many useful thoughts on its management. (PSL)
